The stories of Syrian refugees in Lebanon are many and similar, and the common thread of all these stories is suffering. Among these stories is the issue of education, which is responsible for either building an entire generation of children or destroying and ignoring it.
According to UNHCR, only 42% of more than 666491 Syrian children in Lebanon have formal education, 10% in non-formal education programs, and 48% have no access to any education, despite the CRC that acknowledges the right of free and safe access to primary education for all children.
Among the many conflicts that Syrian refugees in Lebanon are experiencing, which include various kinds of daily tragedies of poverty and alienation, the struggle of rehabilitation and limited access to high-quality education has been one of the most harmful traumas of war.
Ghiras Al-Khair Humanitarian Association has been making great efforts in Lebanon to support the educational attainment, and psychological and social development of the Syrian refugee children, and was keen on affording a suitable school in Aarsal (the largest Syrian refugee community in Lebanon). Ghirsas Al-Khair also equipped this school with all what educational equipment includes, educational means, and appropriate health and environmental conditions, in addition to offering sponsorships for students, public transportation, and all the student's needs of study supplies, as this school received more than 350 students.
However, with the country (Lebanon) facing a severe economic and financial crisis, this has led to a rapid deterioration in the living conditions of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, as almost all Syrian refugees are unable to provide the minimum expenditure necessary to ensure survival.
Because we work to support and protect children at the highest priority to ensure that their rights are saved under any circumstances, we launched the campaign "Our reality is dark. Knowledge is our light."
Campaign Objectives:
1. Contributing to supporting educational attainment to access high-quality educational opportunities for all refugee children, as education is a basic human right.
2. Supporting education financing for uninterrupted, equitable, and inclusive education.
3. Contributing to helping students with public transportation costs and affording all study supplies.
4. working to establish intensive courses for students who are late in school.
5. working to reduce child labor and return them to school.
6. Working to establish another school that includes the largest possible number of refugee children.

تتعدد قصص اللجوء السوري في لبنان وتتشابه، والقاسم المشترك لهذه القصص هي المعاناة، ومن بينها قضية التعليم المسؤولة إما عن بناء جيل كامل من الأطفال أو هدمه وتجهيله.

فمن بين الصراعات العديدة التي يعيشها اللاجئين السوريين في لبنان من شتّى أنواع المآسي اليومية من فقر وغربة، كان صراع محدودية التعليم الجيّد، وإعادة التأهيل من الصدمات الناجمة عن الحرب.

فبحسب مفوضية شؤون اللاجئين: يوجد في لبنان أكثر من 666491 طفلاً سورياً، 48% منهم لا يحصلون على أيّ تعليم، و10% في برامج التعليم غير النظامي، وذلك رغم أن اتفاقية حقوق الطفل تنصّ على الحق في التعليم الإبتدائي المجاني، والآمن.

جمعية غراس الخير الإنسسانية بذلت جهوداً كبيرة في لبنان لدعم التحصيل العلمي، والتطور النفسي والاجتماعي لأطفال اللاجئين السوريين، وحرصت على تأمين مدرسة مناسبة في عرسال (أكبر تجمع لجوء سوري في لبنان)، حيث وفرت فيها التجهيزات التربوية بكل ما تحتويه، والوسائل التعليمية، والشروط الصحية والبيئية الملائمة، بالإضافة إلى تأمين كفالات للطلاب، ونقل عام، وكل ما يحتاجه الطالب من مستلزمات دراسية وغيرها، حيث استقبلت هذه المدرسة أكثر من 350 طالب/ة.

ولكن في ظل ما تواجهه البلاد من أزمة اقتصادية ومالية خانقة جدًا، أدى ذلك إلى تدهور السريع في الظروف المعيشية للاجئين السوريين في لبنان، حيث أن جميع اللاجئين السوريين باتوا عاجزين تقريبًا عن توفير الحد الأدنى من الإنفاق اللازم لضمان البقاء على قيد الحياة، فوضع اللاجئين بائس يرثى له.

ولأننا نعمل على دعم الأطفال وحمايتهم في أعلى سلم من الأولويات لضمان إنقاذ حقوقهم تحت أي ظرف من الظروف، أطلقنا حملة: "واقعنا مظلم.. العلم سراجنا".

أهداف  الحملة:
١- المساهمة في دعم التحصيل العلمي للوصول إلى فرص تعليم جيدة لجميع الأطفال اللاجئين، باعتبار التعليم حق أساسي من حقوق الإنسان.
٢- دعم تمويل التعليم من أجل توفير تعليم جيد ومنصف وشامل دون انقطاع.
٣- المساهمة في مساعدة الطلاب في تكاليف النقل العام وتأمين المستلزمات الدراسية كافة.
٤- السعي لإقامة دورات مكثفة للطلاب المتأخرين دراسياً.
٥- السعي للحد من عمالة الأطفال، وإعادتهم لمقاعد الدراسة.
٦- العمل على توفير مدرسة أخرى تضم أكبر عدد ممكن من الأطفال اللاجئين.
